"In football, there are key decisions made by officials," Van Dijk said. "We have to deal with them on the pitch. I think there's no point in discussing it from my perspective. The reality is that we lost 3-0, and that's a big blow."
Van Dijk also analyzed the first half of the game, stating that Manchester City was more comfortable on the ball and created an overload in Liverpool's backline.
"The first half was difficult for us," Van Dijk said. "They were more comfortable on the ball, and Bernardo Silva dropping deep created an extra overload for us. It was difficult for our front players to get pressure on them, but I still don't think there was a lot of danger."
Van Dijk acknowledged that Manchester City's player, Doku, played a fantastic game, making it difficult for Liverpool's Conor Bradley at times.
"We could've done better, especially in possession," Van Dijk said. "The decisions and the penalty shifted momentum to their side, and we had to dig deep. In the second half, we got a little bit more momentum in possession, but our pressing was not good enough."
Van Dijk emphasized the importance of finding consistency and perseverance, stating that losing hurts, but it's a normal part of the season.
"You have to keep going," Van Dijk said. "It sounds boring, but it's what it is. We're not going to give up. We're in November, and we have to be ready for a long season and a big fight ahead of us. I'm looking forward to that, but we want to have the same performances that we had in the last two games. It's not a guarantee, so we have to keep going."
