Several Premier League clubs are interested in signing Gyokeres, but Sporting is holding firm to their €80 million asking price. This has led to frustration, as Gyokeres was under the impression that he would be able to leave the club for a lower fee.
According to reports, Gyokeres had reached a 'gentleman's agreement' with Sporting, agreeing to a transfer fee of €60 million up front, with €10 million in add-ons. However, Sporting is now refusing to budge from their higher asking price.
As a result, Premier League clubs are starting to look elsewhere for their striking needs. For example, Arsenal are reportedly prioritizing a deal for Benjamin Sesko, while Chelsea are attempting to sign Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Manchester United are also interested in signing Gyokeres, but they would need to sell other players to afford the transfer fee.
