Lindelof has been a key player for United, featuring in 284 games and helping the team win two FA Cup titles and one League Cup title. He was also part of the team that secured a crucial victory over Aston Villa on the final day of last season.

Reflecting on his time at Old Trafford, Lindelof said, "I'm proud of myself. It's been a lot of ups and downs, but I've had the privilege of representing this club for eight years, which has been an honour and a dream come true."

Lindelof praised the United fans, saying, "They're with us through absolutely everything, and it doesn't matter the result, every single week, they come here and they support us and they sing their souls out." He thanked the fans for their support and said he would miss the Stretford End, which he described as a special place.
