Although his defensive skills were his primary asset, van de Ven has continued to improve each season, demonstrating his tackling prowess with a success rate ranging from 53.8% to 71.4%.

In his first season with Spurs (2023/24), van de Ven was awarded the Player of the Season title, made his debut for the Netherlands national team, and secured a spot in the Euro 2024 squad.
