Muñoz, who was the club's fourth-highest scorer last season, expressed his admiration for the team's supporters in an interview with the club. He believes that Palace fans show a similar passion and love for football as fans from South America, who are known for their enthusiastic support.
"The teams I've had the opportunity to play for have always had a strong connection with their fans," Muñoz said. "From Águilas (Doradas) to Atlético Nacional, Genk in Belgium, it's always been the same for me. I think I understand what fans want to see on the pitch because I've been a fan myself since I was a kid."
Muñoz explained that he tries to live football on the pitch, just like the fans experience it in the stands. He believes that this is the key to success, and that Palace fans share some similarities with South American fans in terms of their passion and love for the game.
The 29-year-old defender is a perfect fit for Glasner's tactics, as he can push forward offensively while also tracking back quickly to cover in defense. Muñoz is still working to improve his game, despite his excellent performances last season.
"I enjoy intensity and hard work," Muñoz said. "I always try to improve, and that's evident in every training session and match. The training sessions are tough, but I like the challenge."
Muñoz's commitment to his craft and his love for the club and its fans make him a valuable asset to the team.
