Salah started the new season strongly, scoring in Liverpool's 4-2 win over Bournemouth on August 15. Despite Liverpool's promising start and active transfer window, Salah doesn't think they should be considered the favourites to retain their title.
In an interview at the PFA Awards in Manchester, Salah expressed his admiration for Arsenal, saying, "You have a great team this season. You have a really good chance. I think you are the favourite now... been together for five years." He concluded with a hopeful tone, saying, "Hopefully we do it again."
